Self Advocacy Council

The Arc Fresno/Madera Counties are committed to empowering, inspiring, and supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.  We emphasize this commitment through our development of an Advisory Council made up of elected representatives from each of our service sites.

The purpose of the Advisory Council is to provide them with the opportunity to communicate directly with the service site manager, the Director of Program Services and ultimately the Board of Directors of the agency.  At each of these levels they can share what’s right at the agency, and most importantly, what might need review and improvement to strengthen our services.

The agency is open and transparent about all the services and supports we offer and always encourage our individuals to advocate for themselves and their peers and always want to lift them up and hear their voice(s).

There is an election held every two years at each site and a fun-filled campaign strategy is engaged by each candidate who wants to be successfully elected and represent their constituents.
